やきもち姫
#045
Wants everyone to be happy... just not happier than her. 💖😤
Princess Yakimochi has a very generous heart.
She loves her friends.
She celebrates their successes.
She wants everyone to feel special.
...
But did you really have to compliment them THAT much?
Japanese Nameやきもち姫 (Yakimochi Hime)
Inspired ByThe Japanese word やきもち (yakimochi), meaning jealousy, combined with 姫 (hime), meaning princess.
There's also a little Japanese wordplay hiding in her name.
やきもち (yakimochi) means jealousy, while 焼き餅 (yaki mochi) literally means grilled mochi.
Princess Yakimochi happens to have strong feelings about both.
Elegant. Affectionate. Dramatic. A tiny bit jealous.
Princess Yakimochi genuinely wants her friends to be happy.
She'll cheer for them.
Encourage them.
Tell everyone how wonderful they are.
Then someone says:
“You look amazing today!”
...to somebody else.
Princess Yakimochi smiles politely.
Her eyebrow twitches.
She's fine.
Completely fine.
Probably.
Fortunately, her little jealous moments never last long.
Underneath the royal pout is someone who simply wants to know that there's a place for her too.
Princess Yakimochi doesn't actually need to be the center of attention.
She just doesn't want to feel forgotten.
A seat saved beside you.
An invitation.
A little compliment.
Someone remembering her favorite dessert.
Those tiny gestures mean more to her than any royal treasure.
Because underneath the crown...
she just wants to belong.
Anywhere someone else is receiving suspiciously many compliments
I'd make this more specific.
Of course. 😂
Crispy and golden on the outside.
Soft and chewy inside.
Princess Yakimochi insists the similarity to her name is purely coincidental.
She is also extremely fond of strawberry daifuku.
Especially if you remembered to bring one specifically for her.
Somewhere...
three rooms away...
someone says:
“You look beautiful today.”
Princess Yakimochi:
👂
“Who?”
Second place.
Second invitation.
Second compliment.
Second piece of cake...
Actually, the cake is fine.
As long as her piece is slightly bigger.
