Fugu (フグ), Japan's famous pufferfish, combined with the bold stripes and fearless reputation of the tiger (虎 / tora).

Fugu already have one impressive defense:

When danger appears...

PUFF!

Tiger Puff decided that wasn't quite intimidating enough.

So he added tiger stripes.

Now whenever something scary approaches, he puffs himself up as big as possible and strikes what he calls his:

Tiger Pose. 🐯

Everyone else thinks it's adorable.

Please don't tell him.

⭐ Personality

Brave. Proud. Dramatic. Surprisingly sensitive.

Tiger Puff desperately wants to be known as one of the toughest residents in the JapPop Universe.

He practices fierce expressions.

He works on his tiger growl.

He occasionally walks around saying:

“Grrrrrr.”

Unfortunately, his tiny fins and perfectly round body make intimidation difficult.

But Tiger Puff never gives up.

Because being brave doesn't mean you're never scared.

Sometimes it just means puffing yourself up...

and pretending you meant to do that.

Tiger Puff believes courage is something you practice.

You don't have to be the biggest.

You don't have to be the strongest.

And you definitely don't need enormous tiger paws.

Sometimes courage is simply taking one tiny fin forward when you'd rather swim away.

Although...

the tiger outfit definitely helps.

But he takes snack time extremely seriously.

Fugu (フグ) is the Japanese name for pufferfish and is one of Japan's most famous culinary delicacies.

Some species of fugu contain tetrodotoxin, a powerful toxin, so preparing and serving fugu is carefully regulated in Japan and chefs who handle it commercially require specialized training.

Pufferfish are also famous for their unusual defense mechanism: when threatened, they can rapidly inflate their bodies, making themselves appear much larger and harder for predators to swallow.

Tiger Puff prefers a different explanation.
